Think carefully about a wish
by Albert Riera Galceran
Think carefully about a wish
Close your eyes
(Moment of silence)
Candles are blown out
Loud claps follow
I wish I knew what you wished for
I guess I’ll never know
Wishes shouldn’t be shared or they won’t come true
How many wishes are you granted with?
Do you remember all of your wishes?
I often wish for the same things
Big universal things
I believe we all do
Health, peace, love,…
Would it be better to have more specific wishes?
I often wish I could step out of myself and catch my back
Not all wishes come true—fortunately, or not
Can you wish for someone else, apart from yourself?
Is it an act of generosity to wish for another?
Beneath water, countless coins sit in wells, holding people’s wishes.
Gathered together in one place, or scattered but in communion,
like a silent factory, or perhaps a cemetery of desires.
Which form would wishes have if they existed in physical form?
Could they go right through us like a ray of light?
